Jan has over 20 years’ experience in public mental health services including 13 years as a senior clinician, secondary consultant and trainer with Spectrum, the personality disorder service for Victoria. More recent roles include being a senior clinician across four headspace centres in the north and west of Melbourne and a contracted supervisor for a day program team at a private hospital. In private practice, Jan offers individual psychotherapy as well as couples and family therapy. Therapeutic approaches are tailored to meet the needs of each individual, couple or family.

Jan has experience in assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, psychosis, trauma and personality disorder. Psychotherapy may be short term focussed psychological therapy or longer term psychotherapy.

Couples and family therapy have as the focus, the wellbeing of a couple or family. Couple and family therapy may be related to adjustment to mental ill health or other health related challenges. It is often around enhancing relationships at a time of developmental transition and change in the life of a couple or family.

As an occupational therapist, Jan brings an approach to treatment that addresses mental health and wellbeing in a context of important and valued roles such as work, school and study, recreation, relationships and family.

In addition to these therapeutic roles, Jan continues to offer consultancy, service development, supervision and training services to a range of individuals and health and welfare agencies. Jan is an Accredited Family Therapy supervisor
